Module Choices: Honest Advice from Students

12:00 - 13:00 2nd October 2026

S0.21 (social sciences)

Choosing modules can be confusing, especially when all you have is the official module
catalogue. UWCS is running a relaxed student-led session to help freshers understand
what different Computing modules are actually like.

We’ll talk through how to approach module choices, what to consider beyond just
“difficulty”, and hear honest student perspectives on workload, assessment styles,
useful preparation, and common mistakes. There will also be time for questions, so
bring anything you’re unsure about.

This session is intended as informal peer advice rather than official academic guidance.
For formal course requirements, always check DCS information and your personal
timetable/module regulations.
